Computing & Communication in Information Technology
Computing:
Computing involves the use of computers to process and manipulate data or information. It encompasses a wide range of activities, including data processing, software development, and problem- solving using algorithms.
Algorithm:
In Computer Science, an algorithm is a list set of instructions, used to solve problems or perform tasks, based on the understanding of available alternatives.
Communication:
Communication is the context of information technology refers to the transmission of data or information between devices or individuals. It includes various methods, such as wired and wireless networks, the internet, and protocols for data exchange.
Wired:
A wired network uses cables to connect devices, such as Laptop or desktop computers, to the internet or another network.
Wireless:
A wireless network refers to a computer network that makes use of Radio Frequency ( FR) connections between nodes in the network. Wireless network are a popular solution for homes, business, and telecommunication networks.
Protocol:
Protocol in computer science is a set of rules or procedures for transmitting data between electronic devices, such as computer.
Types of Protocol:
i. TCP/ IP ( Transmission control protocol / Internet protocol)
ii. UDP/ IP ( User datagram protocol / Internet protocol)
iii. HTTP ( Hyper text transfer protocol)
iv. FTP( File transfer protocol)
Internet:
The internet is a vast network that connect computers all over the world.
Types of Internet:
Public, private, business, academic, and government networks of local to global scope, linked by a comprehensive arrangement of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies.
